Introduction

Adam Steven Boni graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1993 and has been practicing exclusively in the area of criminal law for almost 20 years. He began his career as a federal prosecutor with the Department of Justice in Toronto and Brampton Ontario. In 1999, Mr. Boni entered private practice and devoted himself to the defence of accused persons. He has successfully defended clients from all walks of life charged with a variety of criminal offences, including First Degree Murder, Attempted Murder, Conspiracy, Trafficking and Importing Controlled Substances, Participation in a Criminal Organization, Sexual Assault, and Domestic Assault. Since 2004, Mr. Boni has co-authored the only biannually updated, national sentencing text devoted to drug offenders, Sentencing Drug Offenders (Canada Law Book). He has also authored a number of legal articles, most recently, "The ABCs of Search Warrant Review" (For the Defence Magazine, January 2011). Over the past decade, Mr. Boni has lectured on a host of criminal law and Charter of Rights topics at continuing legal education conferences. In March of 2011, he chaired a full day educational program entitled "The Complete Guide to Wiretaps" hosted by the Law Society of Upper Canada at the "MaRS" Center in downtown Toronto. In May of 2012, he was an invited guest speaker at the Justice of the Peace (Ontario Court of Justice) Spring Educational Conference on emerging issues in search and seizure law. In May of 2013, Mr. Boni was an invited guest speaker on emerging issues in search warrant law at the Law Society of Upper Canada's Complete Guide to Search Warrants Program in Toronto. Mr. Boni has also been invited to provide commentary on criminal law issues in the news by a number of media outlets, including CBC Newsworld and CFRB Radio.
