Medical malpractice?

Hello, I was recently discharged from a psychiatric hospital a few months ago. While there I was mistreated every day leading up to my discharge. The first day I was given some papers describing patient rights and how I had a right to a Writ of Habeas Corpus. I did not really understand what this writ was but seeing how I was not being properly checked in I started wondering why the nurses were taking so long without helping me. I started demanding my Writ of Habeas Corpus but the nurses did not even know what they meant: they kept saying, "What is he talking about?". Then I knew this place was a joke. One nurse even smiled at me and said "No", when I said I demand this paper. For some reason I was thought of being unruly and there was a rush of male staff members whom violently picked me up from my chair, in which I was seated the whole time, and carried me away to a room. They tried to inject some shot into my butt but I had my legs closed and was kicking in fear so they grabbed my legs and injected two shots in my left mid thigh. I was then forced to lay on a cheap cot and had my string cut from my pants that held my pants up. Later I heard flushing of a toilet. The next day when I was allowed to retrieve a Bible from my bookbag I noticed my vitamins I paid over 200 dollars for were gone. The bottle and the pills with them. One of my flashlights was gone also.

I feel I should sue this hospital for this abuse and theft of items. Also I was seen by a doctor for only 15 mins every two days and was told I was schizophrenic after being diagnosed as bipolar after having examinations done when I was 14. How can I be said schizophrenic when doctors do not even have enough time to ask me questions? I was not given an exam for this diagnosis. Also I was never properly checked in either and stayed one week. From going in under a court ordered 1013 I think I have 48 hours or 72 before another evaluation and then two more days before discharged or sent somewhere else. But I stayed for 7 days.

Are you saying that you were kept/detained at the facility longer than allowed or proscribed by law? Am I reading you correctly?
