My husband is currently on probation and is a registered sex offender. He has been ordered by his probation officer to attend group counseling classes. The therapist in charge of counseling has told my husband that he must take one of three tests as part of his counseling. The test options he has are ABEL, Polygraph, and Penile Plethysmograpgh (PPG). What I would like to know is what are his rights as a registered sex offender when it comes to these tests? If he were to "fail" these tests, how would it affect his probation? And what harm could be done to his chances of rehabilitation? He must choose 1 of these 3 tests; what would be the best for him?
