I have a design that requires the licensing rights from another company. is there a way to protect this idea?

My product design requires the licensing rights from another party.  Without this license, I cannot produce the product.  Is there a way I can protect the idea of a product to be produced with another party's licensing rights?

This is a question that cannot be answered without in-depth information about your invention and the other party's technology.  You may be able to get a patent on your invention without taking a license from this other party. But it may be a situation, where you can't practice your own invention without taking a license.  I can't say more without more information; information that you must keep confidential.

Find a patent attorney with expertise in your technology area.  Gather all the information you have about your invention and the other party's technology.  See if you can get a free 30 minute consultation with this patent attorney.  Take all the information you've gathered to this meeting and have an open, candid and honest discussion with this attorney.  It is the only way you'll be able to get some informed advice.  Good luck.
