Pressure to get married and asylum

I am an international doctorate student. I have been harassed in my home country to get force married by my family. The law enforcement in my country is in favor of the rich and is unable to protect me from the wrath of my family. I am afraid that I will be forcibly married if I have to leave for my country after my degree here. Can I apply for asylum on this basis, if I have proof of threats by email of this situation. In case my family members have already tried contacting my supervisor in my university to provoke him against me, so that I may be pressurized to be removed from the program of study. If my supervisor helps my family in this regard as he is of the same native, can I get any legal help in this regard.
