My aunt lived in California. After she passed away, we found out she owned a vacant lot in Canada. She was born in Canada, and is buried there. She was not married and had no children. All of her brothers and sisters have also passed. What is required in order for her Next of Kin (nieces and nephews) to sell the lot and divide the proceeds. She did not leave a will. Is it necessary to involve lawyers in the US, or can this be handled locally in Canada?
