Here in Michigan, a warrant will be issued for your arrest once the charge(s) have been authorized by a prosecutor, unless there authorized by a magistrate based upon probable cause provided by an officer. Once the warrant has been issued, an arraignment will be the first hearing in the criminal process. This will occur after you are arrested on the warrant or turn yourself in on the warrant, both occurring after the warrant has been issued. This hearing will occur before a judge or magistrate. A preliminary exam is scheduled 14 days after the arraignment. If you have already been arraigned the court would notify you of the preliminary hearing date. Hopefully this answers your question. You likely should contact a Michigan Criminal lawyer so you can obtain more direct and specific answers to questions that you may have. Best of luck.
