Are Questions posted publicly?
Yes. Questions and follow-ups (Answers, Replies, Comments) are posted publicly.
Do Answers constitute legal advice?
No. Answers are "legal information" only. If you require formal legal advice, you should hire a lawyer or seek legal aid.
How should I ask my Question?
Do NOT reveal personal information or specifics of your case! Revealing details could compromise your case!
It's better to ask questions about law, because answers can be better provided in general terms.
If you start to add the specifics of your own case, the actual facts about what you're being accused with, or what your side of the story might be,
- lawyers can't help you very much with specifics, because that would require legal advice, which cannot be given in a public forum,
- you're potentially revealing information that you'd ordinarily only want to reveal to your own lawyer.
When you speak to a lawyer, whether it's through legal aid, or someone you've hired, what you say to that lawyer is privileged - the lawyer can't reveal that information to anyone else.
The same protection isn't in place when you're posting information on a forum. You're now placing it in a public venue, where anyone can see what you're written.
It may be potentially incriminating information, or just information you wouldn't want other people to have,
yet anyone can access it. One can envision it being accessed by the police or by crown counsel, or by people who are "the other side" in your case, thereby compromising your own defence.
Therefore, you should keep out personal information!

What personal information will be posted when I ask a question at AdviceScene?
Your user name (if you have one) may be displayed, along with anything you enter when asking your question (i.e. the question and details).
Why was my question removed?
If your question was inappropriate in some way -- because it was not applicable to a legal forum or because it
used inappropriate language -- the moderator will delete it. If it was a legitimate question and it seems to have
not been posted, let us know.

What is RSS?
RSS is a mechanism (or service) by which web users can keep abreast changes on websites of interest to them.
The most intuitive examples include news sites and blogs, however there is no limitation, and essentially any site
that produces content may have one or more RSS channels (best known as "RSS feeds") for people to "subscribe" to.
For a really great explanation of RSS,
search Google for "RSS in Plain English"
and watch one of the videos.
Does AdviceScene have RSS feeds?
Yes, we do!
