German school axe attack trial starts

Thu Apr 22, 2010 CBC News The trial of a German teenager charged with 47 counts of attempted murder in a 2009 axe attack on his high school began Thursday. The 19-year-old's trial is closed to the public and his identity has not been released because of his age. Nine students were injured in the Sept. 17, 2009, attack in the Bavarian town of Ansbach. Police stopped the attack when they shot the assailant, who used an axe, four knives and Molotov cocktails.
