Cancer faker Kirilow spared jail

Thu Apr 7, 2011 CBC News An Ontario woman who faked cancer to make money through a bogus charity will not go jail for the scam. Ashley Kirilow of Burlington, Ont., has received a 15-month conditional sentence with 10 months to be served under house arrest. She pleaded guilty to one count of fraud under $5,000 today in a Milton, Ont., court. She had already pleaded guilty to one count of fraud over $5,000 in November.
