Controversial rape ruling appealed

Fri Mar 18, 2011 CNews WINNIPEG - The Crown has formally filed an appeal in a Thompson, MAN., rape case that sparked outrage over a judge's controversial comments about the victim's dress and readiness "to party." Kenneth Rhodes was convicted of sexually assaulting a then-20-year-old woman and received a two-year conditional sentence. The Crown had been seeking a sentence of at least three years in prison.
