Former coach charged in sexual assault

A 48-year-old former coach has been charged with sexual assault and uttering threats against a teenaged boy.

The alleged incidents date back to 2009 and were reported to investigators recently.

Durham police said the accused and the 15-year-old victim were family acquaintances.

Gary Rosa, a resident of Scugog Township, is facing charges of sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, sexual assault, exposing genitals to a person under the age of 16 and threatening death.
