Court rejects provocation defence in husbands murder conviction

OTTAWA – Finding your spouse in bed with another man or woman may send you into a murderous rage, but it doesn’t mean you can get away with murder, the Supreme Court of Canada says. In a 7-0 ruling Friday, the high court rejected an Edmonton man’s use of the defence of “provocation” to justify a 2004 stabbing spree.
