The Supreme Court of Canada has sent back to a lower court the issue as to whether a Globe and Mail reporter should reveal key confidential sources in the federal sponsorship scandal. One of the advertising agencies named in the so-called federal sponsorship scandal, Le Groupe Polygone Editeurs Inc., has been trying to force Globe reporter Daniel Leblanc to reveal a confidential source that led him to break several stories about the federal sponsorship scandal — later dubbed "adscam." The ruling on Friday gave the Quebec Superior Court a set of guidelines on how to decide the issue, saying the lower court had not heard all the submissions in the case, CBC's Julie Van Dusen reported. |
