N.S. soldier in shooting death gets new trial

A Nova Scotia soldier convicted of shooting his friend and comrade to death in Afghanistan has won his appeal and will get a new trial. Cpl. Matthew Wilcox was convicted last summer of criminal negligence causing death and negligent performance of a military duty in the death of Cpl. Kevin Megeney in 2007. On Monday, the Court Martial Appeal Court of Canada set aside Wilcox's guilty verdict and ordered a new court martial on those charges, the Cape Breton Post reported Wednesday |
