Three men who survived the shooting rampage of an RCMP officer in 2001 may end up getting about $1.5 million in compensation. Jocelyn Hotte was sentenced to life in prison in 2002 for murdering his ex-girlfriend, Lucie Gélinas, and attempting to kill the three men, who were in a car with her. Hotte, an RCMP marksman who did security for former prime minister Jean Chrétien and Bloc Québécois Leader Gilles Duceppe, was despondent over the end of his relationship with Gélinas. |
