The four-year ordeal of Douglas Tipple — the fired public works executive who was awarded $1.35 million and exonerated by a Public Service Labour Relations Board adjudicator — just got longer. The Harper government is seeking a judicial review from the Federal Court of adjudicator Dan Quigley's decision last month that cleared Tipple of the taint of his August 2006 dismissal. The real estate expert was recruited from the private sector to help the government make more efficient use of its buildings. But in summer 2006, he and another executive were wrongly accused of missing meetings on a trip to London that was portrayed as more of a junket than a worthwhile research venture. |
