U.S. man who spent 25 years on death row was executed early Friday by firing squad, the Utah Department of Corrections said. Ronnie Lee Gardner, 49, was the first person to be executed by firing squad in 14 years in the United States. Gardner was convicted in 1985 for murdering attorney Michael Buddell during a failed attempt to escape from a courthouse, where he was facing another murder charge. |
