N.B. kidnapping accused waives bail

Mon Apr 12, 2010 CBC News A Moncton, N.B., man accused of kidnapping and confining a 54-year-old grandmother for nearly a month has waived his right to a bail hearing. Romeo Jacques Cormier, 62, is facing six charges, including kidnapping, unlawful confinement, sexual assault, theft of money using violence, assault with a weapon and uttering threats. Sheriff's deputies had to manoeuvre Cormier through a sea of video cameras and photographers as he made his way into Moncton provincial court on Monday. |
