Jeffrey Downs, 36, admitted he killed Leo Joseph Kearley by punching, kicking and stomping on his head in February 2008. At issue was whether Downs should be held criminally responsible for the death, or if he were suffering from active symptoms of schizophrenia at the time of the attack. |
