Ex-student arrested in Calgary school hostage-taking

Thu Mar 4, 2010 CBC News A former student who held a school secretary at knifepoint at a junior high in southwest Calgary on Thursday has been arrested, police said. The 25-year-old man was in the office of A.E. Cross School with the female secretary, Calgary police Insp. Frank Reuser said. Police negotiated face-to-face with the former student for more than an hour. "Apparently, he suffered an injury a few years back," Reuser said. "He's blaming the principal for the injury and wants to speak to the principal."
