McDonald's faces complaint over transgender row

Wed Dec 9, 2009 The Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund (TLDEF) has filed a complaint with the Florida Commission on Human Rights on behalf of a transgender Florida teenager. The complaint alleges the store managers refused to grant the teenager an interview, along with one manager leaving a voicemail that included gay slurs indicating the store would not hire her. While the complaint appears isolated to one store, TLDEF says "nearly 50% of transgender people in the US have been fired or not given a job because of their transgender status." |
