I was arrested for shoplifting by the security guard. He called the police, and the officer saw how remorseful I was and that I had a clean record, so he just gave me a ticket for trespassing. I was banned from the store and was told I had to pay a civil service fee for the store. Since I was not charged by the police, do I have a criminal record?

No, you do not have a criminal record. You were not charged with a crime, so you cannot have been convicted. There has to be a conviction in order for there to be a criminal record.
