My brother assualted me over a contentious issue in our family. He came into my home and smacked me across the face plus tried to choke me. All this was done in front of 2 teenagers living in my home. He has never done anything like this before and has never had a criminal record of any sort. I called the police and now they are charging him with assault. My parents are now horribly stressed out over this and I have had time to reconsider...given his past history. Plus the fact that I think this is an anamole. He has a good job and now I am wondering what will happen to him in the legal system in Newfoundland? I don't want him to lose his good job or go to jail. What will probably happen here?

What a lame system. No lawyer answering this after all this time. I bet if I offered money though I would get an answer!!! Makes me sick!
