In some cases a plea to a lesser charge may be possible, an example might be driving without a license. However for this to happen without a trial you will need the prosecutor to aggree to the lesser offence; they may or may not be willing to do this.
I'm not sure if there is a mandatory minimum penalty for driving while suspended in Ontario, but some jurisdictions have one. You will want to know if this is the case before you plead guilty. If at all possible you should speak to a lawyer in your area before entering the plea. Better yet, hire a lawyer to negotiate an agreement with the prosecutor.
If neither of these is an option you should speak to duty counsel at the courthouse at your next court appearance. Duty counsel is usually very busy, so try and get there early.
