Private contract

we borrowed money from a private lender(my husband's boss) to pay an unpaid bill. A few days later our son went through a operation and we were stressed and sleep deprived and he made my husband sign a contract and we feel we didn't get a chance to discuss the contract. we were a little preoccupied with our son's operation. Now that we review the contract, it is unreasonable. Is there anything we can do?

You shoud have a lawyer review the agreement your husband signed.  Generally speaking, your defence to defending an action for breach of contract has a low success rate.  Stress and lack of sleep isn't an argument that the courts are likely to place much weight on.
You said that your husband's boss "made" him sign the agreement. Could you elaborate on that?
