Idel - temporary layoff?

I've recently had my employer put me on Infectious Disease Emergency Leave, I didn't ask for it. However they claim it's because of covid however I have been working from home since March and there haven't been any issues. They say this is "temporary" however they've completely cut me from everything company related including email. I'm certain this is their way of firing me without having to pay me severance. I've been an employee for over three years.
