Firearms law in relation to public officers and peace officers

What is the legality of peace officers and specifically Royal Canadian Mounted Police officers concealed carrying a firearm. Peace officers are exempted from offences in relation to firearms under the Criminal Code and Firearms Act. They are sworn in 24/7 and therefor always have powers as peace officers. So may they carry their duty issue sidearm concealed while “off-duty,” or does a charge of carrying a concealed weapon apply? Similarly Public Officers are exempted from these offences and this includes Canadian Armed Forces personnel, what is the legality surrounding this in relation to them? Thank you.
