My flight originating in Canada was cancelled unexpectedly by the airline (not due to safety issues as it was cancelled two weeks before travel). This resulted in me having to pay close to double to get a new flight, and that too with long layovers. Under the new Passenger Compensation Rules in Canada, can, and if yes, how I claim compensation? For reference, the airline is Hong Kong Airlines.
