Do you have to probate a will

If someone dies in Alberta and their estate is under 100000.00 do we have to probate or can we just disperse the assets per her wishes in the will. there is also joint bank accounts are they considered in the estate or do they belong to joint holder

You asked 2 questions, One is about Will and the second is about, A joint Bank account.
To answer your question,  if the deceased has a will, you do not have to probate it, unless, there is a reasonable probable doubt that the Will has been tampered by anyone.
Secondly, regarding the joint Bank account, for the reason that it is joint, it means it belongs to 2 individuals, and, therefore, both of them have the legal authority to the account and also any funds available or owed on the account.
