Terminating contract with real estate broker as my listing agent

I entered into an agreement with a real estate broker to be the listing agent for my house which is up for sale. The listing period stated on the contract expires January 2019. The holding period is 60 days. I have found a buyer on my own, and want to sell it to them privately. If I take my house off the market now: 1) Does this constitute termination of the listing? 2) Do I need to wait until 60 days after January 2019 to be able to sell it (without needing to pay the broker commission) OR does the 60 days begin when I take it off the market?
