Odspfraud and audio listening devices???

How likely is it that I would be cut off of ODSP and or charged with fraud if they were told my boyfriend has been living with me the past 3 years I was collecting ODSP? Big trouble or would I be able to work with them on it. 2nd question is is it illegal to use audio devices to listen to conversations in your own home. Thank you

I can't provide specific legal advice. But according to section 183 of the Criminal Code of Canada, it is illegal to record a private conversation. But there is something called "one party consent". If one of the parties in the conversation agreed to be recorded then it is legal. In conclusion, if one person in a conversation agrees to be recorded it is legal to record the conversation.

Feel free to get in touch if you would like to discuss further. Our practice areas include criminal, human rights laws and landlord and tenant board issues. You can call and text me at 647-360-7182.
