Police report

I am wondering if someone says that they filed a police report about a crime. It has been four months since she filed it, and the police haven't contacted me yet. Am I in the clear?

There's really know way to know for certain, unless a limitation period has passed.  Some criminal offences have 6 month limitation periods; others (the majority) technically can be laid outside 6 months, despite the Crown (and police) preferring to lay it within 6 months (for offences other than indictable offences).
