Can I block my lawyer's motion to withdrawal short notice? Do I have to appear in court on short notice? Method of delivery of motion to withdrawal sent via email, is this acceptable form of communication?

Rule 15.04(1) of the Rules of Civil Procedure allows a lawyer to move, on notice to his or her client, for an order removing him or her as lawyer of record. However, there are parameters detailing how the withdrawal is to be carried out.

Feel free to get in touch if you would like to discuss further. Our practice areas include criminal, human rights laws and landlord and tenant board issues. You can call and text me at 647-360-7182.
