Arsony, and theft.

Hi, Last year I was in a not to good place, I was going through a depression, I was low on money and this guy I knew kept manipulating me into doing things for him. I thought nothing of it cause I didn't expect him to be a bad person.. Anyway. We ended up stealing a motorcycle and burning down a truck (I did not burn the truck). The next day I called the owner to tell him what we did cause I couldn't live with the guilt. I'm not a criminal. I gave a statement to the police explaining everything and my friend who was also there (he started the fire in the truck) also gave a statement. Now I'm getting charged with both convictions.. What's my best case scenario?...

You took a step in the right direction by coming clean to the owner and the police, and providing a statement as to what happened. It is difficult to determine what the outcome will be without more facts.

Sentencing is a craft that considers many factors. This includes the accused taking responsibility for their actions, which is what you've done.

Feel free to get in touch if there are any specifics that you would like to discuss. Our practice areas include criminal, human rights laws and landlord and tenant board issues. You can call and text me at 647-360-7182.
